I am quite confused with what all to give to my little princess for eating. So far besides her formula milk, i give her fruit - mashed in a mixer, one cerelac types rice fooding and vegetables- boiled and mashed, dal(lentils). Out if these she just does not like veggies and dal much. She starts making faces as soon as i put one spoon of veggies in her mouth - shows as if she is about to throw up, cries non-stop. But the moment i give her some sweet fruit she is happy as ever. I am getting bit concerned about how to introduce salt to her and make her have atleast little bit of it. I feel may be she would not have salt at all if she wont take it now. I know all babies usually prefer sweet stuff. But there must be some ways to make them have salty things too.
How do people do that?? What are other things I can give her now that she is almost 7 months old?
I also tried giving her baby biscuits and a piece of roti and bread. So far she doesnot hate them - keeps holding them and putting them in her mouth.

I feel at 7 months Prisha is still very young. Her tastes may change. Don't worry. I always keep one advice I had got about children's (babies included) tastes. Offer them anything thing at least 32 times (it is the max number of teeth we can have) before you know if the child really does not like it. And not in one go but with gaps. This basically indicates they need time to get used to the new tastes.
I know there are many mothers here who actually exclusively breasfeed their children uptill the are 9 months. And it is quite sweet. I could never imagine that, as at this age my son was eating a lot of things in the form of porriages.
Keep offering her all that you want to give her in pureed form, and it is Ok if she does not eat it. Use less spices and see if she prefers it that way and sooner than later she will start eating a lot more things.
My son is 3 years and a few months old and I'm still struggling when it comes to food. He used to eat a lot of things earlier when he was around 12 months and continued to do so for quite a while and now it is not so any more "Ugghhh..." is his answer to many things. Some vegetables and daal included. He used to love daal earlier. So, who knows your child, who is refusing to eat daal now, would love it later on.
Just keep trying :) Hope I could be of some help.
Here is a very good website, which might help you about what to give you baby:

Well, here is Saturday and Here am I after going thru your two blogs - journey and Prisha. Both are wonderful and saffron. :-)
I know how tough it can be with a troublesome pregnancy but that one first yell makes it worth.
Love to Prisha. And three cheers for her mom for beginning the Life. Keep it up.
@pg : Thanks for all your suggestions. My lil one is getting better with salt and veggies. I tried them in soup form first and she likes it ..now am moving slowly to more solid form. I guess that "try again and again" option is that i need to remember all the time. Thanks.
@Manpreet : Thank u so much for everything. Good to have a returning reader :)
dont give up heart... i read up somewhere that the key to fed a baby is try try and try... sometimes they dont like something in the first time try introducing the same thing couple of days later when she is in a good mood... it worked with my son... she might just surprise u by loving it... or try mixing it with something.. like if she doesnt like dals and vegies just like that try making a khichdi by mixing all and giving... u can also try putting in half pinch of roasted jeera powder it will her a little flavor and also its excellent for digestion... if she still doenst have it... trying making veg stock and dal water and give her instead of plain water after her meals :)
also try giving her ragi (millet) most of the kids love it and its very rich in protein... if u want the rec then give me ur mail id i will send it across..
also check out this book i found it really good... its an american book but still u get quite some good stuff http://www.superbabyfood.com/
and remember end of the days it doesnt really matter to a great extent what she is eating right now... she is getting most of her nutrition from formula... give her what she likes so that she grows up to love eating and not hating it
