A month that never seemed to end

Is feels like ages since i wrote anything here. So today I forced myself into penning down few words atleast. I like writing and yet i could not motivate myself to take out time to write - weird..ahmm!!

Anyway, so what has been keeping me so engaged all these days - who else- my little sweety-pie. She doesn't like if mumma and papa are not paying full attention to her. When all her usual efforts go in vain she calls in some illness to come to her rescue and get us pay more attention. So more than a month ago she invited Diarrhea over for help - It helped. It stayed there for 10-12 days and as per her wishes we both were busy finding out how to make her feel better. We paid all that special attention to her to make her feel comfortable. Am sure she was loving it all :) Then she decided it was enough so she sent back Diarrhea. She was enjoying it all and we both also felt the need of a short holiday. We thought it would be a nice change for her to see something new and we would also get time to just relax, sleep, eat, relax and do nothing besides playing with her and taking care of her. But guess she didn't hear the last bit of the plan. The same night (friday before easter)when we went to Dusseldorf, she invited the virus over for help. She perhaps thought we are not going to play and blabber with her while on our much deserved and awaited break. The whole friday night went into changing her clothes and diapers. She would just not keep any milk inside. She was throwing up whole of it as soon as the bottle was finished. She was so warm - we think she got high fever too. She was successful enough to make us cancel all plans and go back. And so did we. We came back home first thing staurday morning. And went straight to doctor. It seemed like this time diarrhea was invited with family - full extended family would be more appropriate. It hit her big time. She was pooping every 15 min-half an hr or so. We changed more than 30 diapers a day easily. I think after 2-3 day even she got tied of it. We had to give her some liquid every hour so she doen't get dehydrated. Milk then burp time then diaper change and then ORS and then diaper change and then again milk and diaper change and on and on and on and on it went on for a week. We got worried enough to give repeated calls to GP. Her poop sample was sent for test. We could see she was also getting too tired of all this and wanted the guest to go away now. But the guest had come with the whole family to stay. The week passed by. By saturday her guests had finally decided to bid good bye. We were so delighted and relieved. There is no match to the level of joy we felt when we saw her diaper without poop sometime saturday morning. It felt as if we won a marathon. We both were exhausted beyond explanation. I pity and at the same time thank DH who took cahrge of the duty much more than me. I had to go to work from wednesday onwards and he was there on diaper change duty whole day . He would be lying passed out in his chair when i reached home in the evening. It was awful to see him like that. I could feel that sigh when he saw me there. And as obvious I would take charge from then on till next morning.

After saturday and sunday went in better state. We decided to go for a long due visit to a friend's house which she had bought sometime back. So we went sunday afternoon around 4. It was just half an hr that we had reached there. Her attention catching act kicked in. (atleast we thought so) She started crying for no reason - atleast no reason that we could think of. She just had had her food, her diaper was clean, she had no cramps, it wasn't too warm there, she was in easy clothes, noone was picking and hugging her against her liking. So what else could it be. We thought may be she is slightly hungry. So we gave her little more. Changed her diaper again. But - NO!! Some other uninvited guest had paid a visit this time. And caught her unawares. She kept crying so we decided to go back home. At home also nothing could console her - none of her favorite toys, no music, no walking (in papa's arms-actually papa doing the walking), It was awful to see how she gave us those pleading looks - she almost felt like saying - "please help me, do something". We were almost in tears to see her like that.

We called at the hospital, took her to doc...she was sent in emergency....after series of checks, doc suggested a million blood tests.. it was so awful to see her in pain while they were taking blood from her tiny finger. She was crying with all her energy now...she looked damn exhausted...(obviously, coz she had already cried for around 4 hrs now ) We were sent home. Then night went by tense...we gave her paracetamol when she was again in same restless mode for sometime. That gave her some relief (to us too) and she slept a while. Next day again, the same...though slightly better than day before. It took 4-5 days before she started feeling better. Meanwhile we had already visited doctor 3 times. Though she was slighly relaxed now, diarrhea had come back.

She got all the well deserved attention and love and hugs :) After about one more week of trouble, she seemed to be fine and smiling as before. (touchwood)

So more than a month of tension, pain, uncomfort is gone now....we are at ease and so is she.

Please pray for her good health!!

O-oh! So much pain to go through by such a lil baby! Hope she gets well soon!

And I truly know how stressfully, mentally and physically both, it is for the parents too to take care of a child who is unwell. You take care too girl!
